February 17, 21: Update on Travel Restrictions, Exemption for Filmmakers

As of February 17, 2021 The Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic updated measures on travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 disease. The decree ( click here ) contains an exemption related to filmmakers and artists entering the territory of the Slovak Republic from the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Austria meeting the following conditions:

Section 8 h):
1) As performing artists or members of the production crew, you participate in a cross-border production of an audio-visual work or television programme, you work in the news and media broadcasting as foreign correspondents or crew members, you participate in a cross-border production including rehearsals or on-line broadcasting, music or dramatic production, ...
2) When entering the territory of the Slovak Republic, you can present a letter of confirmation signed by the producer of the audio-visual work, broadcaster or programme producer, media institution, producer of audio-visual programme or sound recording, theatre, music institution, ...

Upon entry, everyone is required to register:
when crossing country borders: form
when flying in to Slovakia: form

Documents needed to enter the Slovak Republic

  • a certificate issued by the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic with a negative antigen test for COVID19, not older than 7 days, or

  • a confirmation of a negative result of the antigen test for COVID-19 issued by a mobile sampling point or sampling point in social services facilities in the Slovak Republic according to Annex 3, not older than 7 days, or

  • a confirmation of a negative result of the antigen test for COVID-19 not older than 7 days or a negative result of RT-PCR test for COVID-19 not older than 7 days.

Slovak independent producers are committed to the Self-regulatory Measures applied since April 24, 2020.
